  We desperately needed accommodation in Canberra so we could mind our grandchild whilst our daughter had her second baby. Everything was booked out - found a cancellation for one night at Northbourne Lodge. Extremely reasonable price and home-cooked breakfast available. I did then manage a couple of days later to find accomm. for several days, so rang Northbourne Lodge to cancel - not a problem! Such cooperative and friendly staff! Thanks and hope to stay with you in the future.

  I've stayed in this family run place a few times when visiting Canberra and would recommend it - the rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. There are suburban restaurants and pubs around the corner and it's an easy drive to the Gallery, Parliament House and the museums. I found the staff to be polite and helpful.

  After taking an extraordinarily long time to answer the phone, my polite enquiry about booking accommodation received a very rude response from the woman who eventually answered. Apart from failing to announce the name of the premises when she did answer, her attitude was decidedly unfriendly and unhelpful; she rudely informed me we couldn't make a booking on 21 Dec because they were closed for Christmas, and was even ruder in her refusal when I asked for an alternate recommendation. Based on this experience, I would never make another enquiry with this place - even if my only alternative was to sleep under a bridge. My rating = 0 (absolute zero).

  Nice cozy place and I slept the best that I ever had in Australia. The bed and breakfast is nice and the owners are very kind. Price is amazing. TIP: DO NOT try the milk. It is outdated. PERFECT!

  This was a very nice place. The price is absolutely worth it and the manager isn't greedy for money. Good parking and it is a very quiet place. There is a good breakfast with a large range of teas, with usually either cornflakes or rolled oats. This is a place to definitely stay in...
